Alumni Study Tour Scholarship

Purpose:
Provided by the generous gift from a group of NEIU Alumni who have a passion for travel, this scholarship seeks to provide financial help for any Northeastern student to travel with a study tour connected to a NEIU class or tour to take the trip. A limited number of $500 scholarship awards are available.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, there will be study tours led by NEIU faculty and staff members to the following: Belize, Burundi, Ghana, Paris, and Spain.

Eligibility Requirements & Instructions for Applying:
• Be an undergraduate junior or senior in good academic standing.
• Currently enrolled full-time or half-time (at least 6 to 12 credit hours) at Northeastern Illinois University.
• Open to degree seeking students in any major.

• Must be a participant in one of the NEIU sponsored study tours for the current academic year.

• Submit a one-page essay about why you wish to take a trip abroad.
• Be able to show the balance of need to cover the costs to participate in the trip.
• Agree to use social media while on the trip to share your experience.
• Write a post-trip article that could be used in NEIU publications or the University’s website to promote the value of the Study Abroad programs.
